What does it mean to unite in purpose?
It means first and foremost, building a diverse community filled with remarkable people who have stories to tell, knowledge to share, and time to give. But we are not so naive to think it just takes people. The world runs on currency and if we plan to maximize our collective impact, we need some legal tender at our disposal.
We created the Community Fund so that we can use 50% of all of our member dues to seed good ideas for making a positive contribution to the world. Working together, us members will decide how, when, and for what these funds should be used. We know that with such a diverse group of professions, interests, cultures, and ages, there will be no shortage of suggestions, which is why the Fund can be used for a single project or multiple ones throughout the year. Regardless, the process for choosing them will be democratic, inclusive, fair, and most importantly, really, really fun. We expect lively discussion, healthy debate, lots of compromise, and ultimately, a firm commitment from all to bring the best of these ideas to life. And while the initial funds are seeding by member dues, additional capital can be raised through crowd funding, corporate matching, and additional member contributions based on projects near and dear to our hearts.
